Monica & Edgar’s Elegant Wedding at the Lafayette Grande

Monica & Edgar had a lovely wedding day, with an elegant and lively reception at the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac. It was so joyful- these two couldn’t stop smiling all day! They incorporated many of their own cultural traditions into their wedding day. Their ceremony, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Troy, involved many symbolic Filipino wedding traditions- they had several important family members and friends serve as primary and secondary sponsors for their marriage; a veil and a symbolic cord were placed on them representing their bond; and coins, or Arrhae, were a symbol of prosperity and their commitment to each other, their new family and community. They also incorporated Latin customs with an amazing dance they did called the Bachata, which they performed beautifully! They also celebrated an Ecuadorian tradition called La Hora Loca, (the crazy hour!) when everyone donned masks and danced their hearts out! It was an amazing day filled with love, culture, family, music, friends, and laughs. They have been so fun to work with (check out their downtown Detroit engagement session!) and we are so happy they chose us to spend their amazing wedding day with them!Detroit Wedding Photographer
