Megan & Nathan had such an amazing and fun wedding day at Detroit’s historic Gem Theatre! It was very balmy for November, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. They had a first look in the gardens out front. Their ceremony was on the stage, dramatically lit and presided over by Nathan’s uncle. A Moment in Time did a lovely job with the floral design, and Matt Hanchon from Mike Staff did a great job, as always, with DJ duties. The whole day could not have been more perfect, and Megan and Nathan are so happy and so in love. We are so honored to have been a part of it!
Bailey & Matt had an incredibly beautiful Fall wedding day at the historic Detroit Athletic Club! They prepared for their day there, surrounded by friends and family that love them. Bailey was stunning and Matt looked so handsome, both glowing with joyful nervous energy. Their ceremony was intimate and emotional. The DAC and its staff did an amazing job, as always, with impeccable service and attention to detail. Emerald City Designs did a beautiful job with florals. The Jerry Ross Band had the crowd on the dance floor from beginning to end- quite literally! As well as an excellent Motown tune sung by the happy couple themselves! It was an awesome wedding- best summed up by Bailey on the way up to the rooftop terrace late in the evening. She looked up at Matt and said “It’s been a perfect day- I married my best friend.” Really, who could ask for more?
It’s not often at wedding celebrations that the bride and groom spend much of their time performing on stage, but James and Niki’s guests were so thrilled they did! The couple met playing in the Detroit Party Marching Band, a guerrilla brass music collective, and share a passion for their hometown of Detroit, local music and food, and their amazing friends and family. James plays the trombone, and Niki plays the saxophone and sings. It was an awesome and totally unique lakefront party filled with brass, old-timey records, laughter, gold sparkles, rain, sunshine, family, dancing, dogs, and good old-fashioned fun. They made sure their favorite people and music were all represented- Lac La Belle, Detroit Pleasure Society, Detroit Party Marching Band, and Richie Wohlfeil from Lo & Behold Records. Niki wore her grandmother’s wedding dress from over 60 years ago, and she and all the important ladies in Niki’s life helped her get ready. She serenaded James during the DPS set, belting out A Good Man is Hard To Find. It’s a rarity that the mom and son dance is to Devo’s Whip It, but it sure would be fun if it happened more often! Even Iggy, the couple’s Tom’s Tavern rescue dog, dressed up for the occasion. Coriander Kitchen and Farm, a 2016 Hatch Detroit finalist, provided an inspired meal. Mother Nature began the party with a torrential downpour, but followed up with a peaceful and gorgeous sunset over Lake Huron. What an amazing field trip up Michigan’s east coast to Fort Gratiot, and such a fun night rocking out to raucous brass and timeless tunes with this awesome couple!
Eran and Yunwei’s Zingerman’s Cornman Farms wedding was rustic, elegant, and so much fun! The day actually started started off with buckets of rain coming down. These two young doctors took the crazy weather in stride, and it turned out to be an incredibly lovely day! The couple had first look at the old stone smokehouse. Their intimate ceremony in the barn was touching, officiated by Eran’s father, and their guests got to roam the barn and beautiful grounds during cocktail hour. The Aisle Agency made everything go very smoothly all day, and Rock Out Entertainment did a fantastic job with the audio and lighting, and had the crowd dancing into the night. Zingerman’s Cornman Farms was, as always, an amazing venue for a wonderful celebration of love. We are so happy we got to capture this beautiful day!
Amy and Kali’s wedding day was long awaited, heartfelt, and filled with tears, laughter and joy! These two ladies have been together for 12 years, and were finally able to officially celebrate their love with family and friends at the Stonebridge Golf Club in Ann Arbor. The brides started with an emotional first look, and then exchanged vows during their emotional wedding ceremony that had everyone (including these photographers!) in tears. Their good friend Katie was their officiant, and all of their siblings were their proud attendants. Enchanted Florist did an amazing job with the floral design. When the moments weren’t emotional, they were hilarious- Amy and Kali are so cute together and make each other laugh all the time- their happiness is infectious, and we couldn’t be happier for them! All you need is love, and it wins after all!
