Lindsay & Greg’s Rustic Farm Wedding at Millcreek Barns

For Lindsay and Greg’s wedding, we took a little road trip out to The Millcreek Barns, a charming and rustic venue in Watervliet, MI. The ceremony was outside in the garden, and their reception took place in the big old barns. It was a perfect meeting place for both their Detroit and Chicago area friends and family to meet, relax and have a great time! Lindsay’s details were great- nothing was overdone. Simple, pretty, and perfect in the vintage rustic farm setting. There were old quilts, mason jars with wildflowers, and the bridesmaids carried simple bouquets of baby’s breath. The food was amazing- catered by Thornburg & Company, a local artisan food company.  We are so happy that we got to capture their day at such a wonderful venue. Congratulations Lindsay and Greg!

Sarah and Alex’s Belle Isle Conservatory and Detroit Yacht Club Wedding

Sarah and Alex were married in Detroit, their adopted hometown at two of our most favorite locations, both on Belle Isle. Their wedding ceremony was in the formal gardens in front of the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and their reception was at the Detroit Yacht Club. They are such a happy and loving couple- they absolutely light up when they look at each other, and they were so much fun to be around! We hope all of their out of town guests enjoyed our wonderful town and had a great time! Let us know what you think of the photos- these are some of our favorites!

Sarah & Alex’s Downtown Detroit Engagement Session

Sarah and Alex are a sweet and beautiful couple- they are so much fun and so in love! We love that they are Detroit newbies- they met here through Teach for America, and they have adopted our awesome city as their own. They will wed on Belle Isle, in the gardens at the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and reception at the Detroit Yacht Club. Speaking of our favorite places in Detroit, we shot these engagement photos at Eastern Market and walking along the Dequindre Cut. We can’t wait for their wedding!

Erika & Scott’s Birmingham Wedding- The Reserve at Big Rock

Erika and Scott had an awesome wedding day! The ceremony was lovely, as they were joined by their family and friends at the First United Methodist Church of Birmingham. The couple and wedding party stopped at Dick O’Dows and into downtown Birmingham, then headed to  their reception at The Reserve at the Big Rock Chophouse. What a great venue! Erika and Scott were ready to let loose and they had a great time, as did their guests! The flowers were beautifully designed by Lynn Jovick of Cleverbumblebee Creations. Thanks to Erika and Scott and their families for choosing us to capture their day!

Melissa & Josh’s Ann Arbor Wedding at Cobblestone Farm

Melissa and Josh have both traveled all around the world, but their enduring love brought them back together to Ann Arbor to marry- the place where it all began. They revisited all of their favorite spots on the U of M campus, where they first met and fell in love. They had their first kiss under the Bell Tower, which is also where they signed their marriage license. They kissed under the Denison Archway, where you’re only supposed to kiss your betrothed. Their outdoor ceremony was emotional and intimate, in a lovely garden at Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor, where they walked one another down the aisle. There were so many personal touches to the details of their day- Melissa wore her grandmother’s vintage brooch and earrings, that lent even more elegance to her chic and timeless look; Josh’s mother spoke at their ceremony; his cousin sang the song for their first dance; they wrote their own touching and heartfelt vows, and a close family friend was their officiant. Melissa and her friends and family even arranged most of the flowers for the day. Their guests had a laidback and fun evening playing croquet near the barns and farm animals, and dancing, eating, and laughing together. It was a truly beautiful wedding day!
