Tracy and Riva | Modern Wedding Photography

Gabi and Sean are so obviously in love- they always make each other smile and are all about each other! They had a warm and personal wedding celebration with their closest family and friends in the tropical atrium at the Westin Southfield, where the gardens inside were so pretty and lush. Gabi wanted peonies for her bouquet, and Hollye Mackler Designs made it happen, doing a beautiful job with the floral design for both Gabi and her bridesmaids- each had a unique bouquet. Their families gave warm toasts and relayed funny stories. Gabi’s family came all the way from Australia to celebrate with the happy couple. After her brother’s lively toast, Down Under by Men at Work played and set the mood for the rest of the evening- everyone got down and had fun on the dance floor. Needless to say, the Aussie song was stuck in our heads for a few days, but it was well worth it! Congratulations you guys!! Thanks so much for letting us be a part of it!

Rachel and John brought such a stylish vibe to their wedding, reflecting a love for all things Detroit, Belle Isle, and their beloved Detroit Yacht Club. John is a super talented photographer who we both attended CCS with back in the day, so we were even more flattered that they asked us to shoot their wedding (try being the photographer’s photographers- no pressure!) Their wedding styling was inspired by the amazing DYC- its elegant, timeless, and nautical style. Their ceremony took place at the historic Grosse Pointe Academy Chapel. The gusty winds didn’t damper anyone’s spirit- in fact it made for great photo ops! Favors at the wedding featured their specialty-bottled Union Ale (bottled and designed for their wedding) with their own custom wax seal, as well as amazing McClure’s Pickles and Bloody Mary mix (yum). The cake was delicious and so pretty, made by Josef’s in Grosse Pointe. The couple asked their guests to write them special wedding messages in a bottle, and everyone had a fabulous time!

Rebecca & Danny’s wedding was super creative and inspired, with vintage touches of romantic florals (by Gabrielle), hobnail milk-glass vases, antique birdcages, and heirloom lace doilies. It was such a wonderful contrast with the industrial Crofoot Ballroom, built in the 1830s. Their ceremony was officiated by a good friend and they were surrounded by happy family and friends. Danny’s band The Strangers played at the reception, and he serenaded his new bride, as guests turned into dancing fans. It was such a great celebration and everyone had an amazing time! We are really happy they chose us to capture their wonderful day!
