Andrea & Ryan’s Downtown Detroit photos and Festive Chaldean Wedding Celebration

Andrea and Ryan had an amazingly romantic wedding day. They started off by seeing each other at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit, where Ryan had proposed. They love hanging out downtown so we hit many of their favorite spots- Belle Isle, the Riverwalk, Lafayette Coney Island (Lafayette won this coney war over American!), the Fox Theater, the Town Pump Tavern- it was a whirlwind day of glamorous photo ops.

The wedding took place at St. George Chaldean Church in Shelby Township, MI. The ceremony was rich in tradition, music, and emotion. The reception was at the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township as well. They had a traditional Chaldean wedding dance- the dancing started when they walked in and barely stopped the whole night. The couple’s first dance was to Ray Montagne’s You Are The Best Thing- it was sweet and totally romantic. The whole day was festive, emotional, happy, sweet and fun. We are so happy that they allowed us to be a part of their fantastic day with them!

Kathy & Ben’s Wedding at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI

Kathy and Ben had a sweet and intimate morning ceremony in the stately library of the historic Alger Mansion at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. The rainy weather kept them indoors for the wedding but the view of the lakefront grounds was beautiful, and the couple couldn’t have been more happy. The cake was adorable- made by Grosse Pointe European pastry shop Josef’s. Very lovely harp music by Tapestry accompanied the ceremony. Their favors were so cute and personal- jars of homemade jams made by Kathy and her mom Denise. Thanks for letting us capture your wonderful celebration!

Renee and CJ’s Addison Oaks Wedding in Leonard, MI

Renee and CJ had a lovely wedding ceremony and reception at the sprawling and lush Addison Oaks in Leonard, MI. Although we had a bit of rain, it didn’t dampen anyone’s mood at all! The staff of Addison Oaks was amazing, rearranging from outdoor to indoor as the weather made up its mind. The view out the windows of the grounds was beautiful during their ceremony. Renee’s bouquet and all of the flowers were so vibrant, summery and fresh- designed by Viviano’s. The cupcakes were cute and delicious, made by KJ’s Confections. The couple and their friends and family- many from out of town and all over the world- rocked out after dinner and danced late into the night. Congratulations you two- we really enjoyed working with you and your families!

Elyssa & Shailesh’s Wedding at Weller’s in Saline, MI

Elyssa & Shailesh got married at  historic Weller’s in Saline- the grounds are gorgeous and the unique interior is quite charming and timeless. Their wedding day had such terrific details- from Elyssa’s electric blue shoes to the Star Wars themed cupcakes made specifically for Shailesh by Elyssa’s brother. Their giant cupcake topper was even a pair of Star Wars characters! A light sprinkle of rain fell during the ceremony (they do say it’s good luck) but it soon cleared up for a beautiful evening reception. We wish Elyssa & Shailesh the best as they head back home to Seattle!

Kyley & Brian’s Wedding at the Heavenly Scent Herb Farm in Fenton, MI

Kyley and Brian had a lovely wedding ceremony at the Heavenly Scent Herb Farm in Fenton, MI. The grounds there are just gorgeous! All of the beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets were also done by the folks at the Heavenly Scent, where the gardens are lush and seemingly endless. Kyley had some fantastic accessories to go with her elegant strapless dress, including  hot-pink patent leather slingbacks and a classic vintage beaded clutch that once belonged to her grandmother. The reception was nearby at the Tyrone Hills Golf Club- the delicious food and array of desserts (including mini pineapple-upside-down cakes- yum!) were made by the amazing onsite chefs from Sherry’s Catering. Kyley and Brian had a perfect day- the weather cooperated (what a relief!) and all of their friends and family had a wonderful time. We loved working with them!

Christy & Travis Wedding in Plymouth, MI

Christy and Travis had a wonderful wedding day! When they saw each other for the first time, it was such an emotional and happy moment! We were in downtown Northville, MI and headed over to the historic Mill Race Village where we had so many good photo ops- the park has so much to offer- charming architecture, a historic feel and gorgeous greenery. Their ceremony was especially emotional and sweet, and the reception at Plymouth Manor was a fantastic time spent with family and friends- giving their best wishes and bon voyage messages as the couple heads to Shanghai in a few weeks! We wish you the best, Christy and Travis, and know you will have a wonderful life together- your happiness really shows through in the photos. Thank you for letting us be part of your special day!

Kerry & Darin

Kerry & Darin are such a cute and happy couple! Their wedding was great- there was such a personal touch to all of their details. The programs were handmade and crafty- the monogrammed T’s on the cover were all hand-cut, as were the sparkly stars that went on the table settings- Darin even used the stars he cut on the special card he made for Kerry. The handkerchief that wrapped Kerry’s delicate bouquet was her grandmother’s. Their ceremony was at the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. After the ceremony, we were able to spend some time photographing the couple at the historic Law Quad on the University of Michigan Campus in Ann Arbor. Their reception was at the Four Points by Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel. The couple’s first dance was impressive- they took dance lessons to get their moves just right, and it paid off! The cake was amazing- beautifully crafted by Gwen’s Cake Decorating and Etc. based in Saline, MI. Not only was it aesthetically wonderful, but it was also delicious!

We really enjoyed working with Kerry and Darin on their special day!
