Shawn & Nate’s Grosse Pointe Wedding at the Lochmoor Club

Shawn and Nate had a beautiful wedding day! They are so sweet together, and so all about each other. Shawn got ready for the day surrounded by her close family and friends. She wore a special necklace given to her by her grandmother, which was also her birthstone and something blue. Their ceremony was at St. James Lutheran Church in Grosse Pointe Farms, which is also where they had their first look. Her amazing flowers were designed by Connor Park Florist and the lovely cake was made by Josef’s. Their reception was at the classic Lochmoor Club in Grosse Pointe Woods. The club’s lush exterior provided such a gorgeous backdrop for photos, and the rain luckily held off until all of the guests were comfortably inside! Shawn and Nate are an awesome couple, and we are so happy to have been part of their day!

Shawn & Nate’s Grosse Pointe Engagement Session

Shawn and Nate are just perfect together and so in love! Here are some favorites from their sweet engagement session in Grosse Pointe, including Pier Park and The Village in Downtown Grosse Pointe. We just shot their wedding at St. James Lutheran Church and the elegant Lochmoor Club. We will post a sneak peek of their wedding photos in a few short days!

Erin & John’s Spring Wedding in Mt. Clemens

Erin & John had a wonderful wedding day! The trees were all in bloom on this pretty but chilly Spring day, and luckily the rain held off! Erin looked so beautiful, and had some very personal touches with her accessories- she had a special broach that belonged to John’s great-grandmother, and carried his Baptism bonnet with her. Their ceremony was at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in downtown Mt. Clemens. Afterwards, they celebrated with their wedding party at Your Mothers Bar. All of the flowers were gorgeous, designed by Twigs & Branches. Their reception was at Andiamo’s in Warren, where the guests had a great time dancing and celebrating with the happy couple. Congratulations you two!

Vivian & Eric’s Ann Arbor Wedding at Weber’s Inn

Vivian and Eric’s love story started at Amer’s inside the Michigan Union on the University of Michigan’s campus. Guests at their wedding got a kick out of listening to her sister tell the story during her toast of how Vivian jokingly “stalked” Eric while he worked there, as well as getting hooked on his espresso concoctions. We stopped back at that fateful cafe on their wedding day after they had their first look in the always beautiful Law Quad. Only a few years later, they celebrated their wonderful wedding at Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor. Their wedding day was a wonderful mix of Chaldean traditions, Buddhist blessings, the warmth of family and friends, and the love they share. They were both glowing with happiness all day and having a blast! Kathy from I Want a Fantastic Function did a really fantastic job with the coordination, planning and everything in between, and the gorgeous florals were designed and arranged by Enchanted Florist in Ypsilanti.

Here are some of our favorite memories of their day- see more on our Facebook page! Congratulations to Vivian and Eric!!

Our Favorite Things: Downtown Detroit Weddings

We love photographing weddings in all kinds of places- backyards, farms, restaurants, old churches- the list goes on! But we do have a special place in our hearts for a Downtown Detroit wedding. There are so many amazing locations for photos and really wonderful and historic venues. Some of our favorite reception venues downtown include The Rattlesnake Club, The Detroit Yacht Club, and The Colony Club, just to name a few. The historic Churches are amazing treasures to shoot in- Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Old St. Mary’s Church, Saints Peter and Paul Jesuit Church, and Sweetest Heart of Mary are just a few of our favorites- all so very impressive in their grandeur! We love going off the beaten path as well as old standby’s for photos- Lafayette Coney Island (or American if you prefer!), wandering around the jewel that is Belle Isle, the Dequindre Cut, The Heidelberg Project, and just capturing the unique urban landscape that is Detroit- rough and colorful textures, rich history, unexpectedly lush green spaces, wonderful public art projects, and the busting hubbub of our city. Here are only a few of our favorite Detroit wedding photos!
